Terms of Service
Agreement
By installing the OmniTab Chrome extension or using any OmniTab service, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not install or use OmniTab.
Description of service
OmniTab is a Chrome browser extension that tracks tab activity, dwell time, and workspace organization. It provides a dashboard interface for viewing, searching, filtering, and organizing your browser tabs.
OmniTab offers three service tiers: Free (no cost, no account required), Plus (paid subscription), and Pro (paid subscription). Feature availability varies by tier as described on our pricing page.
Accounts and access
Free tier: No account required. All data stored locally on your device. No server communication unless you enable cross-device sync.
Paid tiers (Plus/Pro): Require an email address for billing and account recovery. Subscription payments are processed by Stripe. You may cancel at any time; access continues until the end of the current billing period.
Cross-device sync: Requires device registration with our server. You may unlink devices and delete server data at any time via Settings → Sync.
Your data
You own your data. OmniTab does not claim ownership of any content you create, store, or transmit through the service, including notes, clips, workspace configurations, and tab history.
Data portability: You may export all local data at any time using OmniTab’s built-in export features (CSV, JSON, tab list).
Data deletion: You may delete your server-side data at any time via the in-app “Delete Server Data” button. Local data is deleted when you uninstall the extension.
See our Privacy Policy for details on data collection, storage, and security.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the OmniTab extension or server software, except as permitted by applicable law.
- Use OmniTab to monitor another person’s browsing activity without their knowledge and explicit consent.
- Circumvent tier restrictions or payment requirements.
- Use OmniTab’s server infrastructure for any purpose other than the intended sync, telemetry, and panel features.
- Distribute modified versions of the OmniTab extension.
Intellectual property
OmniTab, including its source code, design, documentation, and branding, is the intellectual property of OmniTab and its creator. The extension is distributed through the Chrome Web Store under a proprietary license. All rights not explicitly granted are reserved.
Payment and refunds
Subscription billing: Plus and Pro subscriptions are billed monthly via Stripe. Prices are listed on our pricing page and may change with 30 days’ notice.
Cancellation: You may cancel at any time. Access continues until the end of the current billing period. No partial refunds for unused time.
Refunds: If you experience a technical issue that prevents you from using a paid feature, contact us within 14 days of the charge for a full refund.
Service availability
OmniTab’s local features (tab tracking, workspaces, search, notes) work entirely offline and do not depend on our server.
Server-dependent features (cross-device sync, server panels, telemetry insights) depend on the availability of our API server. We make reasonable efforts to maintain uptime but do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. Server maintenance windows will be communicated via the dashboard announcement system when possible.
Limitation of liability
OmniTab is provided “as is” without warranty of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law:
- OmniTab is not liable for data loss resulting from browser crashes, extension updates, storage corruption, or any other cause. We recommend using the export feature to back up important data regularly.
- OmniTab is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the service.
- OmniTab’s total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid for the service in the 12 months preceding the claim.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of OmniTab after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to paid features if you violate these terms or engage in abusive behavior toward our infrastructure. Local features will continue to work regardless of account status.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, United States, without regard to conflict of law provisions.
